Neuropsychological Evaluations

Neuropsychology is the study of brain-behavior relationships. We interview the identified patient and other important people (family members, other treating professionals, etc.). We administer a wide variety of specific tests and measures that look at different areas of brain function. We consider this information in the context of background information about medical, developmental, academic, family, social and environmental conditions. We can perform evaluations that range from brief and focused testing of, for example, early signs of memory concerns, to comprehensive evaluations of learning disorders, acquired brain injuries and diseases. The goal is to create a profile of an individual’s strengths and any limitations, so as to develop treatments, education and strategies for families to use.

Pricing for all appointments in this process varies depending on the professional providing the services and the length of testing time required. The price for the initial 1 hour appointment is $300.00. At the end of that appointment, the psychologist will discuss with you the options for further evaluation, if needed. Should psychological testing be required, fees are charged on the basis of the length of time such testing will require, the time needed to score such testing, the time needed for the psychologist to interpret the findings and prepare a written report, and the time needed to provide feedback regarding the findings. These fees will be specified prior to any testing, and you will be asked to sign an agreement to the proposed services and fees before they begin. We will charge for each portion of the fees at the beginning of those services (e.g. the fee for testing and scoring will be charged prior to beginning testing, the fee for interpretation and report writing will be charged prior to those services, and the fee for the feedback session will be charged prior to feedback. In cases where testing will be required, fees can range from $700 to $3100. While we do not accept insurance, you may ask us for procedure codes to give to your insurance carrier, so you may ask them about potential reimbursement possibilities. Please email tngadmin@thenichollsgroup.com and ask us to send the procedure codes for an evaluation. Please note that we are able to accept ESA funds as long as you have the ESA card available; we can also provide documentation for reimbursement through ESA.
