Dr. Amber Schaefer, Ph.D.
Neuropsychology Postdoctoral Fellow
Dr. Amber Schaefer is a bilingual (Spanish) postdoctoral fellow specializing in neuropsychological evaluations for children, adolescents, and young adults. Her clinical interests include ADHD, autism, learning disorders, language and communication disorders, intellectual developmental disorders, as well as giftedness and twice exceptionality (2e). Dr. Schaefer is experienced in assessing individuals with complex medical histories, such as prematurity, stroke, epilepsy, brain tumors, cardiac transplant, and genetic conditions like Turner, Klinefelter, and chromosomal deletions. She also has several years of experience providing evidence-based therapy for individuals and families across the lifespan.
Dr. Schaefer holds a Ph.D. in Counseling Psychology from Arizona State University, an M.S Ed. in Mental Health Counseling from the University of Miami, and bachelor’s degrees in Psychology and Spanish from the University of Florida. She completed her predoctoral internship and a year of postdoctoral fellowship in neuropsychology at Massachusetts General Hospital and Harvard Medical School.
In her free time, she enjoys being outdoors with her three dogs, traveling, and reading.
