Dr. Halverson is trained in SPACE (Supportive Parenting for Anxious Childhood Emotions). This works by changing how parents respond to anxious behaviors in children, such as asking parents to stay with them until they fall asleep, or avoiding places and things that they are afraid of. In SPACE, parents are trained to assure their child that even though their fear is uncomfortable, they can handle it. This is especially helpful for younger kids with anxiety, fears/phobias and OCD.
